Volunteer
There are many ways that you can get involved as a Vivid Volunteer and positively contribute to the lives of people with disability.
Volunteers are an invaluable community resource, one which is vital to our organisation, supporting adults with disability to actively engage in the life of their community and achieve personal goals.
Vivid aims to professionally plan, train and coordinate its volunteers to ensure that you can effectively respond to the needs of the people we support.
We welcome both individuals and groups as volunteers. If you’re a business and you’d like to discuss ways that you and your team can get involved then click here (link to Corporate Volunteering in Opportunities for Businesses)
The rewards of volunteering
Volunteering is a two way relationship. Just as you will be lending a hand to someone, you too will find that you benefit from the relationship. You will discover new things about yourself and learn more about your local community.
Volunteering also offers the chance to have fun, develop new skills and gain a sense of having done something worthwhile and valuable.
Many of our past volunteers have taken advantage of job opportunities at Vivid and moved into paid employment with the organisation once they got a sense of the rewarding work that is being done.
Your training and support
Initial training is given to you before you start as a volunteer. You will be notified of any additional training that you may need to undertake.
Our Volunteer Coordinator will provide ongoing support and volunteers are also supported by trained Vivid staff who are dedicated to caring for the people who access our services.
Christmas Volunteers
Each year in December, we seek the assistance of Vivid Volunteers to support our Christmas gift wrapping stations. We guarantee you’ll have fun while you make a meaningful difference to people with disability.
