Coronavirus Advice: Monday 30 March

This Advice is for all Vivid staff, clients their families and carers together with everyone else who is a part of the Vivid family.

Stage 3 restrictions

The Prime Minister, last night, advised that gatherings will now be restricted to no more than two people (except for members of your immediate household and for work or education).

The Premier, today, said that there were only four reasons for Victorians to leave their house:

* shopping for what you need – food and essential supplies

* medical, care or compassionate needs

* exercise in compliance with the public gathering requirements

* work and study if you can’t work or learn remotely

Vivid has adjusted its service provision to comply with these new restrictions.

We will continue to offer services to people with disabilities who need our support.

Vivid’s mission is to support people with disabilities.

COVID-19’s impact has meant that some of the people we support need Vivid more than ever.

The Disability Royal Commission has issued a Statement of Concern about that impact and the desperate need for supports to continue.

The directions given by Government do not, could not and should not prevent Vivid from providing support to people in need.

Vivid also, of course, has obligations to it employees including providing a safe workplace – all supports are delivered strictly in accordance with Health Authorities’ guidelines.

The restrictions do not extend to work, if you can’t work from home.
